Talking to Plants
2025-ongoing

These paintings are a project of urban foraging. They include inks made from plant materials found along Boston’s streets and the Quinobequin (Charles River). For me, this process of foraging for ink materials has created new relationships with color and with the plants in my neighborhood. The colors remain alive on the page and in the bottle. They constantly respond in unpredictable ways to time and environmental factors around them. From the living ink comes new visions of imagined fauna- queer bodies otherworldly and yet made of this earth.
